Update: The Primm Lotto Store is open with additional safety measures in place including the use of safety dividers at the cashier counter.
The Lotto Store at Primm is one the world’s busiest lottery stores. It’s the closest place to get lotto tickets if you live in or are visiting Las Vegas.
Despite Nevada being the most famous gambling state in the nation, the state doesn't run a lottery or participate in lotteries such as Powerball or Mega Millions.
Therefore, Southern Nevada residents often go to Primm to purchase their lottery tickets.
In addition to Powerball, Mega Millions, scratch tickets, and more, visitors can also buy California’s lottery SuperLotto Plus tickets.
The Lotto Store has at least 8 self-serve lottery machines and cashiers. There are different options to buy including pick your own numbers, scratch tickets, vending machines, and counter registers.
When jackpots grow large, lines snake around the outside of the store, and down the block. It can take hours to get to the cashier to purchase tickets.
The Lotto Store has a reputation for paying out some big prizes. Winning lotto tickets have included the amounts of $2.1 million and a $4.7 million winning ticket in 2020.
In addition to lottery tickets, The Lotto Store also sells beer, energy drinks, sports drinks, water, teas, and sodas. It also has restrooms.
Affinity Gaming operates The Lotto Store at Primm for the California Lottery. The store is promoted on the Primm Valley Resorts website. Staffing and hiring at the store is done through Affinity gaming, which owns the three large casinos in Primm.
The store is located on Lotto Store Road and has a Nipton, California address, even though the small community of Nipton is more than 15 miles away. Lotto Store Road is entirely on the Nevada side of the border.
The store, which is officially called California State Lottery in Primm, has a country club themed appearance similar to the nearby Primm Valley Resort.
The Prizm Outlets mall is a short walk across the street from the lottery retailer.
There are also a variety of restaurants, a convenience store, a Starbucks, a gas station, and a Tesla Supercharger near The Lotto Store.
The Lotto Store has more than two dozen parking spots and can be reached from Vegas in as little as 40 minutes. Avoid going on the weekend for smaller crowds.
South of the store, Primm ends and the desert terrain extends into the nearby Ivanpah Dry Lake.
