Primm Housing

Living in Primm

Housing options in Primm are very limited. There are no residential homes for sale in the community. The only housing available is at the Desert Oasis Apartments at Primm located at 355 E Primm Blvd.

The Desert Oasis is a large apartment complex with two-floors and dozens of buildings for residents. The Desert Oasis Apartments were built in 2004 when MGM owned the Primm Valley Resorts properties.

The apartments are only available to be rented by employees of Primm Valley Resorts and their families.

The apartments are on the east side of the community just east of the Primm Valley Resort. There are a total of 436 apartment units at the complex. It has lots of parking spots and the spaces are unassigned.

Benefits of Living in Primm

There are a number of benefits for Primm residents to live at the Desert Oasis Apartments instead of commuting to work.

Living in Primm compared to Las Vegas or Henderson, residents have more affordable rental rates, lower auto insurance costs, more leisure time, and less crime and traffic.

Residents at the Desert Oasis have a number of things to do in Primm. These include shopping at the Prizm Outlets, over a dozen restaurants to choose from, a Starbucks less than a half-mile away, or gaming at the community’s casinos at Primm Valley Resort or Whiskey Pete’s.

You could also purchase lottery tickets at the Lotto Store or simply enjoy the pool at the apartment complex. Or if you have a Tesla or electric car, there is a Tesla Supercharger station by the McDonald’s.

GROCERIES IN PRIMM

There is no large grocery store in Primm. There are currently three convenience stores in Primm: the Market at Desert Oasis, the Primm Center in Prizm Outlets, and at The Flying J Dealer truck stop.

There is also a large convenience store in Jean ten minutes north of Primm or grocery stores farther north in Henderson and Las Vegas.

Family Considerations

While convenience is king at the Desert Oasis Apartments, there are other considerations for families. Primm is in the Clark County School District.

The nearest elementary school to Primm where kids would go would be either Goodsprings Elementary School or Sandy Valley Elementary School.

Sandy Valley is a small community that is in a remote area thirty-five minutes by car from Primm, west of Goodsprings.

Sandy Valley School is K-12, but there is a separate Sandy Valley Junior/Senior High School. There is also a public library in Sandy Valley.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the Nevada Highway Patrol serve Primm. Both have locations in Jean.

In Jean, which is eleven miles north of Primm on I-15, there is also the Goodsprings Justice Court and a post office.

Primm Housing Alternatives

The Desert Oasis Apartments are the only housing in the Primm area. Don’t be confused by the apartment complex’s Jean address.

Jean has the nearest post office yet there is no housing in Jean – it’s a small commercial area.

The next closest housing to Primm is in Goodsprings or in the southern part of Las Vegas. If you’d like a more remote location, there is an RV park in Nipton, which is 25 minutes southeast of Primm in California.

Or if you are in a pinch, you could always stay for a longer period at the Primm Valley Resort. Or you could park your RV for a short durationat the Prizm Outlets with permission from their security office.

With the growth occurring in Southern Nevada and its proximity to Las Vegas, it’s likely there will be a need for more housing and development in Primm.
