The name Whiskey Pete lends its name for the Primm area's original western owner, Pete McIntyre. In the 1920s, in addition to his convenience store, Pete McIntyre also set up a bootlegging operation. Thus, he became known as "Whiskey Pete" and was a popular figure in Primm history.
