Primm is located on the southern Nevada/California border at Exit 1 off Interstate 15. It is located approximately 40 miles south from Las Vegas, and 138 miles northeast of Barstow, California. With Nevada’s 70 miles per hour speed limit, visitors can drive from Las Vegas to Primm in about 35 minutes.

Passenger train service from Primm to Las Vegas is being planned. Primm Valley Transit Authority, Inc. was privately formed with the goal of providing passenger/entertainment train service. They plan to contract with Amtrak to pull high–speed Talgo passenger cars over the existing Union Pacific Railroad line. The passenger cars would offer gaming machines. High–speed rail service between Primm and Las Vegas is also in the planning stages.
